This website, maintained by Cornell University, USA, provides photographs and descriptions of biological control (or biocontrol) agents of insect, disease and weed pests in North America. It is also a tutorial on the concept and practice of biological control and integrated pest management (IPM). The guide currently includes individual pages of approximately 100 natural enemies of pest species. While most of these species are not present in Asia, this is a useful reference site for those working in IPM and biological pest control anywhere in the world.

This is a database of weeds in more than 40 countries, including Vietnam, Korea and India. The database provides a description and color photo of each weed, as a guide to identification.
There is a link to a Directory of weed control scientists in developing countries. Weed scientists visiting the site can add their own names to the directory.

This very useful site gives a world-wide list of weeds that have become resistant to herbicides. The purpose of the survey is to monitor the evolution of herbicide-resistant weeds and assess their impact throughout the world. Weeds can be searched for by their common name in several languages, and also by the scientific name, by country, and by mode of action of the herbicide. Weeds listed are accompanied by at least one photo, and generally 3-4 photos, as a guide to identification

This website was developed by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. It provides biology and treatment recommendations for Field Crop Pests. There is an index by crop, and an index by insect pest. Most of the recommended control measures are insecticide applications. These insecticides may not be available in Asian countries, or they may be available but under different names.

This web site contains information on most species of virus known to infect plants. It includes data on host range; transmission and control; geographical distribution; physical, chemical and genomic properties; taxonomy and relationships; and selected literature references. There are also links to other websites conerned with the indexing and control of plant viruses

This database gives the common and scientific name of a large number of plants, including both crops and weeds. Other information includes plant growth data, plant distribution data, and links to other plant sites. The emphasis is on North American plant species, but a large number of these are also present in Asia, including invasive weed species. Images are provided for many (though not all) species, making it a useful tool in weed identification
