Micronutrient deficiencies are easy to treat but difficult to diagnose. The symptoms mimic those of disease, or may even be caused by disease. This young citrus tree suffers from zinc deficiency induced by citrus greening disease. Greening bacteria have blocked the circulation of sap, so that zinc taken up by the roots cannot reach the rest of the plant. The tree shows typical \"Mottle-leaf\" symptoms.
