PREFACE Even more than pests or diseases, weeds are the most severe and widespread biological constraint to rice production. Rice fields infested with weeds are likely to suffer losses of 30-40%, and there may be total crop failure. The papers in this book discuss recent research into the control of weeds using biological control methods in systems of integrated weed management.
