New Publication
Traceability in aquaculture, traceability of genetically modified organisms, and traceability as it affects small and medium-sized enterprises feature prominently in this first book. Volume 2 will include more national assessments; another special subject and a close look at data capture technologies and their role in achieving reliable and cost-effective traceability.
A special feature in this volume entitled Aquaculture: Asia was drawn from the proceedings of the FFTC-sponsored international workshop on the Development and Adoption of Traceability System for Fish and Fish Products in Asia held in Bali, Indonesia on 26-30 November 2007. The section includes 12 papers presented during the said workshop discussing key issues and trends in the development and adoption of traceability systems for fish and fish products in the region.
FFTC organized the workshop to promote the importance of a traceability system in terms of giving each country in Asia a better opportunity to improve their overall fish industry management, market position, and competitive edge. The workshop attracted aquaculture experts from all over the region, to share and exchange technologies and information on the development of traceability systems in the fish supply chain to meet both regulatory and market requirements domestically and internationally.
